UPDATE DECEMBER 23rd 2009

As 2009 draws to a close we'd like to thank you all for your continued support and wish you all a peaceful Festive Season with your families around the world. We'll look forward to seeing you on our travels in 2010. Nice one!!!

HAPPY CHRISTMAS FROM SUPERYOB

Franka Claus with merch girl Kerry

A great big 'Cheers!!! Nice one!!!' to everyone who came out on a treacherous night to the Circus Tavern for the Cockney Rejects 30th Anniversary knees up. What a fantastic night, with faces from all over the world making the trip for a groundbreaking show. All the bands rocked hard and the Rejects were incredible. Thanks for everyone who came and said hello at our merch table and sung along to our set. Cheers to Nick and Tom for their organisational skills.

Haystacks gave the debut performance of the SUPERYOB guitar...look out for more of these next year.

Thanks you also to all the people who made our first trip to Italy such a memorable experience. It was a hard weekend without any sleep, but it was worth it. We got a great reception and have already been invited back next year - with possibly a string of Italian dates. Thanks to Luca, Miki and the Double Knockout drinking crew, Pierpaulo and his team and also the other bands - Pinta Facile (beware of angry cats Lorenzo), Roll Call (Strength of the Sardinian Nation!!!), Automatica Aggrezzione, GTA and Feccia Hardcore.

-------------

The eagerly awaited double gatefold vinyl release of DOUBLE TROUBLE on Randale Records has been put back to January 2010. We apologise for this:- it's due to some problems with artwork templates which we are trying to resolve as soon as we can. Initial copies will come with a very limited bonus EP featuring 5 ultra-rare Superyob tracks from way back in the day - remastered and unique.

-------------

As some of you may or may not know, next year is the 15th Anniversary of Superyob's existance. To celebrate this, we are in the very early stages of planning 'YOBSTOCK' - an all-dayer in London featuring some of the cream of the crop of European Punk/Oi! bands. We've been speaking with a venue which is interested and we've sounded out some of our favourite bands to try to pencil in some workable dates. Proposed date at the moment isSaturday July 17th. We'll nail down some more solid details after the Festive Season.

-------------

We still have tentative plans to record a football based EP for next year to coincide with the 2010 World Cup. Watch this space. Starting in the new year, we'll be starting to arrange and demo some brand new material for this and the next album. We'll let you know how it's sounding.

-------------

Good news for our Finnish chums is that over several beers in the pub in Crayford last week, Jani was persuaded to push for a re-jigged Superyob visit to Tampere for June 2010. It will likely be with The Charred Hearts. Watch this space for updates.

--------------

Copies of our 3rd album Ghetto Blaster have again run out due to huge demand. We are in the process of securing some more copies from the USA. We will announce when they are again available.

--------------

We have our first gig of 2010 courtesy of that fine upstanding gentleman Sheffield Dave. We've been invited back to The Snooty Fox in Wakefield on June 5th. Likely support will be from the exceptional Skinfull + Insane Youth.

More UK shows announced as we get 'em.

-------------

Plans are also afoot for European gigs for 2010. We're looking at a bunch of German dates around late March or early April and maybe extend it to some other countries. We're actively scouting around for shows in Greece, France, Portugal and Italy. We're also hoping to go back to Sweden and Spain if circumstances allow. If anyone has any leads or suggestions for gigs in Europe please drop us a line to comeplayinmycountryyouenglishpigs@superyob.com. We've also been invited back to the USA next September for some shows, but that's very much in the planning stages.

-------------

We're delighted to announce that Andy Bass and his delightful other half Pinkie are now proud parents to Charlotte. Mum, baby and knackered Dad are all doing gloriously well. We wish them all the best.

-------------

Things are progressing with the imminent release of AGGROPHOBIA for the first time in vinyl courtesy of Bob and Sean at ROCK & ROLL DISGRACE RECORDS in the USA. Everything is complete and they are looking at a mid January release. Test pressings are currently being perused by members of the Boston MA musical elite. Although this will be a USA/Canada only release, we will have a very limited amount of import copies available here in the UK, so those of you who still cherish the sacred vinyl will have a chance to get copies. Check out their blog here....http://rnrdisgrace.blogspot.com/ .

The projected release of the US vinyl version of Machine Guns & Alcohol will follow hot on the heels of the AGGROPHOBIA release.

------------

Talking of ROCK & ROLL DISGRACE RECORDS they are also putting out the newly released album by Haystacks' other band THE CONCRETE GODS. Entitled 'Welcome to the Empire Club' it's out now on Underground London Records in Europe. It's the Gods' follow up to 'Anglo-Centric Generation' and it's as stonking slab of Mod/Punk. Check out the Gods MySpace page for details of how to get a copy and their upcoming gigs.

------------

As we are now well and truly in the digital age, we can announce the availability off all the songs from the DOUBLE TROUBLE CD in downloadable format here..

http://www.tunecore.com/music/superyob

You'll find 3 albums for selection - 'Aggrophobia', 'Machine Guns & Alcohol' and a bonus tracks album. Cost of each song is 79p. If you're a child of the digital revolution and you prefer to download your punk rock then who are we to stand in you way?

If you haven't got iTunes on your computer then there is a link on the Tunecore site where you can download it.

We are also in the process of uploading the GHETTO BLASTER album, as soon as we finalise contracts with all concerned. Watch this space for details.

-------------

Finally, the London Pride t-shirt design has reached Yob Towers. I've contacted those with pending orders, so new customers get in sharpish. We humbly apologise for the delay in getting these out to you, but there were continued artwork problems, and we didn't want to bring out a sub-standard product. Details below and on the MERCH page.

-------------

Check out Frankie's MySpace page HERE for details of his manouevres for the rest of the year and beyond. It also has details of recent recordings he's done and those in the pipeline. 4TH YOB ALBUM AVAILABLE NOW

Yes ladies and gents, the 4th SUPERYOB album is finally with us. Nearly 2 years in concept and construction we finally presented it to the our good friends Oli and Diana at RANDALE RECORDS based in the Black Forest area of Southern Germany. There are 13 songs which encompass the variety of styles of music which bind the sound of SUPERYOB together - all delivered in our usual direct and uncompromising fashion. Some people who've heard it have labelled it a concept album - well, if a personalised critique of the melting pot of ingredients which has contributed to and continues to contribute to the fabric of our British society is a concept then so be it. We're proud of it and hope you will be too.

The 12 original songs and 1 cover were recorded at SHACK STUDIOS in Essex with the saintly influence of our good friend Grant Matthews at the controls. The tunes were penned by the formidable pairing of Flame/McVicar with Pat assuming the role of Executive Producer. Our customary cover doffs our cap to the work of The Sweet.

It is available on CD and also on standard black and coloured vinyl.

Thanks to those who helped contribute :-

Jim Thompson on fiddle and bazouki. Jeff and Phil McD for backing vocals. Stodge for his work in arranging and demo-ing. Degz for his usual work of genius in translating our ideas into something that looks as good as it does. And of course Grant....

HERE ARE SOME BITS OF FEEDBACK WE'VE HAD SO FAR ABOUT THE NEW ALBUM

SUPERYOB - Quality Street CD (Randale Recs)
Crime. Pride. Looking after yer own. Good propaganda subjects. Thankfully there's no hidden agenda when these topics are dealt with by Frankie Flame. Indeed you cannot help but share his outrage at the state of the country, where charvers rob their own, kids are denied operations and one-time socialists now bend over for big business cock and line their pockets like a New Deal scheme charver in a jewellers. "Everybody's equal…except for you son". Couldn't have put it better. The man has a way with words, and an ear for a tune to match, rooted firmly in the glory days of glam & Oi. Anthems like "Charity Begins at Home" , "Champagne Socialist" and "London Pride" stick in yer head like an ICF boot and he also dredges up an obscure Sweet classic "Live For Today" which is paid tribute to brilliantly.

REVIEW OF QUALITY STREET/STEEL CAPPED NATION WEBZINE

Here's the rating scale*: 1-no good, not worth my time 2-mediocre 3-alright, has potential 4-good stuff 5-excellent, a classic

*1/2 points will be used as needed

Randale Rec.

The newest release from these English Oi! vets and it's definitely one to wake the neighbors with! What amazes me most about this group's music is their ability to tell a story as casually as if you were sitting right beside them in a pub somewhere and still make a storming racket doing it! This one is loosely themed about life in a working class street as the opening track proclaims "this is the story of people's lives on the street where we live/ I won't mince words, you know me I tell it like it is." The proceeding tracks do just that and mix Franky Flames' piano & keyboard sounds with acoustic and overdriven guitars, drums, bass guitar and on the last track titled "public bar" some fiddle, and other instruments unusual to this style. It all leaves me thinking "ah, just right." You get 13 tracks of stories of London pride, bank holidays, guys we all used to know, and Cockney kings...not a dud one really. This is surely some kind of mile stone in this band's career because I have honestly not heard another record quite like this one. Get this one or be left a hobo in the gutters of Quality Street! 5 -SCN www.randale-records.de - myspace.com/superyoblondonuk

QUALITY STREET ALBUM REVIEW BY GARRY BUSHELL

Superyob's new album showcases all the band's strengths: great hooks, mob choruses and lyrics about working class life and a lost London. Stand-out tracks are 'Champagne Socialist', 'Cockney King' and the anthemic 'London Pride.' 'Toe Rag' is another cracker, an angry tuneful tirade about lowlife parasites who prey on the people, and the album finishes with Frankie on the Joanna for 'Public Bar' a singalong tavern gem that took me right back to the glory days of the Fox & Firkin… magical

UPCOMING GIGS

Here are the gigs we have booked for 2010 so far.....

SAT June 5th 2010 - SNOOTY FOX in WAKEFIELD, YORKS

After a cracking night there earlier on this year we've been asked back already courtesy of Sheffield Dave. Support will be from Skinfull and Insane Youth. Flyer when I've got one. Watch out for Sheff's photocopied nonsense flyers blu-tak'd in Yorkshire hostelries nearer the time.

MORE GIGS TO BE ANNOUNCED AS WE BOOK THEM

---------------------------------------------------------------

Hopefully you've all been checking out our MySpace page where Frankie does occasional updates and masterminds the topical Yob-blog and where MySpace friends can leave us messages. There are tunes, the history of the band, plenty of photos and Frank's entertaining and colourful missives on life, the universe and Street Rock'n'Roll

Check http://www.myspace.com/superyoblondonuk

Frank has very kindly uploaded some tracks from the new album so get down and try before you buy.

------------------------------------------

Remember we also still have our MySpace site dedicated to championing the cause of the everyday football fan in the money-centric world of the beautiful game. It features our still-unreleased anthem 'Sweet F.A' - pop in and give it a listen.

Go to http://www.myspace.com/superyobsweetfa for your listen. Remember though, this site is for those interested enough to join in our protest against the rip-off culture of British Football.

Feedback has been good, but please feel free to drop us a line here at Yob Towers to let us know what you think. If anyone is involved in the sporting media and thinks there may be an avenue for widening the listening circle of the song - again, please drop us a line.

---------------------------------------------------

For those of you who missed out on the all new British Oi! Compilation 'Oi! Fuck You!', featuring our track 'Rough Justice', we have it on very good authority that it is being re-released with new artwork etc early in 2010.

Ascalon Records has ceased trading for now. It will be re-released on another label with brand new artwork. More news as we get it.

---------------------------------------------------

We're always looking for gigs up and down the country, so if anyone has contacts, is promoting gigs or knows of promoters working in their area who might fancy putting on the most entertaining spectacle on the Street Rock circuit, please drop us a line.

------------------------------------------------

I came across these choice nuggets for your perusal from YouTube. See what you think of Frankie posing in front of the camera courtesy of the handiwork of Colin from The Vanilla Muffins. He's kept these well under his titfer.

This last one was recorded by our good chum Johnny D on our US tour in 2004 in Providence, Rhode Island, and is actual evidence than Haystacks CAN play the solo in the song and it wasn't studio trickery.
